MEET KIM LESLIE
Art has been a lifelong passion for Central Otago artist Kim Leslie.
A self-taught artist, Kim creates one-off landscape paintings inspired the photos of the New Zealand countryside with a twist of artistic license and her imagination.
"I spend a large preportion of my time painting - when I'm not painting I am always out and about in the New Zealand countryside looking and talking photos of almost everything.
My desire is to paint pictures that give me joy painting and hopefully captivate you to want to put on your wall.
I have a desire to always make what I do affordable and accessible to every walk of life.
My works are all done by me in my wee corner set up in my lounge, much to the entertainment of the teens as I "takeover" the house.
When I'm not painting, I enjoy pottering in my cottage garden and harvesting from my fruit trees and vege garden."
A strong Christian, Kim credits her faith for her being a walking miracle - twenty-two years ago Kim was one of the first people in New Zealand to undergo a heart transplant. Alongside her children, painting is Kim's legacy, showcasing her unique perspective to the world.
